Minden Whippets Volleyball Earns State Berth

It was a win or go home atmosphere on October 29 when the Minden Whippets girl’s volleyball team went against Ord Chanticleers with a state playoff berth on the line. After a dominant season, anything short of a state playoff berth for the Whippets would have been disappointing but Minden handled business through all three sets to ensure their trip to state. Minden controlled all three sets with a result of 25-14, 25-13 and 25-16. Sophomore Mattie Kamery was a huge focal point for the Whippets success as she totaled twelve kills, ten assists, three aces and six digs. Senior Bailey Rogers led the way on defense for Minden with twelves digs.

It has been nothing short of an impressive season for the Minden Whippets as their season record is currently at 32-3. Minden will look to take this success all the way to the state finals on November 2 when the Whippets take on Douglas County West Falcons at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln. Minden will play again on November 4 if successful in the first round.
