Minden Opera House in cooperation with Minden Community Players will host the 2016 Nebraska Association of Community Theatres festival July 22-24. The event will feature One Act productions performed by community theatre groups from across the state that the public is welcome to enjoy.
Performances will take place on July 23 beginning at 10:00 a.m. with “Parallel Lives” by Mo Gaffney and Kathy Najimy produced by Way Out West Theatre. The script uses a collection of short skits to explore the common rituals of modern life. Humor and feminism will keep the story moving and the audience engaged.
Following a lunch break, The Lofte Theatre will take the stage. Starting at 1:00 p.m. the group will present “Shakespeare’s a Dick” by Mark Aloysius Kenneally. The comedy is a cautionary tale to any like the young rube Wally who would disrespect the bard. After his mistake and a night of drinking, Wally wakes to find he can only speak in Shakespearian verse.
