The Minden Whippets softball team made most of the Class C-6 district tournament held in Gothenburg on Thursday and Friday.
The Lady Whippets entered the district with a record of 2 wins and 23 losses and were the seventh-seeded team in the tournament. Minden played better than it has all year long winning four games out of six in the double-elimination district. The Whippet finished the season as the C-6 district runner-up and finished the year with a record of 6 wins and 25 losses and a glimpse into the future of the softball program.
Minden started its district by taking on the second-seeded Blue Hill Bobcats (12-11) on Thursday with the Whippets emerging with a 7-4 victory in eight innings. Lily Steen picked up the victory for the Dawgs pitching all eight.
