Minden Wins Own Invite

The Minden Country Club along with the Minden girls golf team played host to the 2013 Minden Invitational Golf tournament. On a picture perfect day, the Whippets claimed their first invitational championship by winning the Minden Invite meet by four strokes over the defending Class C state champions from Grand Island Central Catholic. Minden shot a team score of 406 to win the invite while GICC was second at 410 and Holdrege third with a 415.
Minden was again paced by junior Jessica Rehtus. Rehtus finished in fourth place after carding a 96 for the day. Ashton Boldt was right behind finishing with a 97 and the fifth place medal. Paige Kristensen shot a 102 and finished in eighth place overall while teammate Kayla Shullaw carded a 111 and medaled in 13th place. Sophie Pinkham shot a 125 and finished 18th. Sam Bendix shot a 128 as a JV player and finished 19th in the tournament while Sarah Richards shot a 130 and was 20th and Brianna Petersen rounded out the Whippet scoring with a 135.
