For the 8th consecutive year, one young woman from the community will be crowned as Miss Christmas City. The crowning is part of the Christmas Traditions activities on November 25 and will take place at the start of the Christmas City Parade on the Minden Opera House balcony.
The Minden Chamber of Commerce is asking community members to nominate someone they feel embodies the spirit of Christmas for the contest. Lynette Beahm helps coordinate the annual event and said that anyone in the community can make a nomination.
Nominees should demonstrate the Christmas spirit by volunteering, helping others, and being involved in community activities. The ideal candidate is a young woman in grades 9 through 12 attending Minden High School.
