The Minden Public Schools Board of Education had a full agenda to work through during the April 13 regular meeting. Board members Ken Carpenter and Kevin Raun attended the meeting through Zoom while the remaining members were present in the high school media center.
Administrators reported on measures they are taking to continue education while schools are closed and expressed gratitude to teachers and staff for all their efforts during this time. The district took part in the national “Be the Light” campaign on April 10 honoring the class of 2020 by turning on stadium lights and encouraging patrons to drive past in support. Superintendent Jim Widdifield informed the board the track renovation project is getting an early start. Lighting and electrical upgrades will begin later in the week.
Amendments to two policies appeared for review. Changes to Policy 9300 Regular Meetings removed language specifying time and place of regular meetings. Amendments to Policy 9320 Order of Business focused on making the policy more concise. No action was taken.
