MPS Board Selects Architect

The Minden Public Schools Board of Education met at a later time on May 9 to allow board members and the public to attend the C.L. Jones Middle School Spring concert.

Considering the consent agenda, the board discussed expenditures in the board packet. Superintendent Jim Widdifield informed the board the district has more supplies coming in for next year and those expenses will be seen through the Summer before tapering off in August. One of the big expenses this month was repairs to the compressor at East Elementary.

The units at the elementary school are more than 35 years old. Their age means refrigerant costs associated with the repairs are higher than they would be for newer units. Following the discussion, the board approved the consent agenda including the April 11 minutes, financial reports, and expenditures and claims for payment.
