Minden Public Schools staff joined the revitalization efforts at Pioneer Village with a workday afternoon on September 24 and now they are challenging other groups and organizations to do the same. Minden High School Principal and Pioneer Village Revitalization Committee member Don Hosick initiated the schools’ involvement.
During the summer, Hosick was contacted by Larry Wilcox to join the Pioneer Village revitalization group. Although he isn’t originally from Minden, Hosick has fond memories of the village in its prime and was quick to join the revitalization efforts.
“Being a former history teacher, I was excited to be able to help out with this worthwhile project. Like many other students across the state of Nebraska, having the opportunity to travel to Minden at the end of the school year to visit Pioneer Village was one of the highlights of growing up in Cambridge,” Hosick said.
