Mayor Ted Griess announced at the September 20 Minden City Council meeting that the City of Minden has more than 3,000 residents according to the latest census. A population of 2,923 was recorded in 2010.
Service awards were presented to five members of the Minden Volunteer Fire Department during the meeting. Michael Shelton, Alexis Ciprian, Brian Weber, Travis Oltman, and Mathew Melroy were recognized for their altruistic service to the community.
Kelly Gewecke from NDED presented the board with recognition of the City’s Leadership Community recertification. The City of Minden is one of 31 communities in the state that holds certified Leadership Community status. Minden has held the distinction for six years.
