The Minden City Council met via Zoom for the last time on June 15 as the executive order issued by Governor Pete Ricketts in March to allow public meetings by video-conference, teleconference, and other electrical means expires at the end of the month. Mayor Ted Griess noted social distancing practices will still need to be followed when the council resumes in person meetings at City Hall in July.
The council was asked to consider submitting an application for a second Downtown Revitalization CDBG Grant. City Administrator Matt Cederburg stated he intends to consult with the steering committee and downtown businesses about whether to use potential funds for infrastructure, commercial rehab, or a combination of both. Construction would begin in Spring 2022, but now is the time to apply for the funds.
