New Screening Equipment To Be Showcased At KCHS

Kearney County Health Services will be showcasing their newest equipment at an open house on Thursday, April 21 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Included on the open house tour is equipment for cardiac stress testing, CT scans, Digital Mammography, Bone Dexascans and Digital x-ray.
Also offered on Thursday morning are free blood pressure checks and reduced price blood cholesterol tests and lipid profiles (overnight fasting is recommended for blood tests).
The cardiac stress test equipment and in-house dexascan are the two latest additions to the hospital’s inventory.
“The new equipment is for cardiac stress testing,” explained Julie Schmidt, Cardiac Rehab Supervisor. “It includes a new treadmill and EKG with computer monitor. The $20,000 for the new equipment came from the Wine Wreaths and Whimsy fund raiser. Three of us, Sandy Becker, Mary Bunger and I,  had our training on the new equipment in March.
The cardiac stress tests are done at the hospital every other Tuesday.
