Opera House Holds Town Hall Meeting

The Minden Opera House hosted the second Minden Town Hall Meeting in the process towards a new comprehensive plan on January 19.
Craig Bennett and Brenda Petersen of Miller and Associates gave a short presentation, but the majority of the time was spend on group discussion.
They also presented a rough draft of chapter one from the new comprehensive plan, which is titled “community profile.”
Inside is a brief history, followed by a population report supported by numbers from the Census Bureau, which reported a drop from 2,964 in 2000 to 2,923 in 2010.  
Also in the population summary was an age breakup. The largest bracket was 50-54, which makes up 7.1 percent of the community of Minden.
