Paul Kenney, an agri-businessman, farmer and rancher from the Amherst area, filed paperwork with Nebraska Secretary of State John Gale to be a candidate for University of Nebraska Regent District 6.
“The University of Nebraska system is a vital part of our state from the 190,000 alumni living in state to the 3.9 billion dollars it generates for our economy every year.” said Kenney. “I understand the importance of the University system to this state and as a member of the Board of Regents I will use my agricultural and business background to strengthen and grow the University’s value nationwide.”
Kenney continued, “I also recognize the importance of keeping tuition affordable, so that kids across the state are able to obtain the outstanding educational opportunities afforded by the University of Nebraska. I will work to keep tuition rates reasonable so that Nebraska kids, like my grandchildren, can receive the same great education that I did while graduating without mountains of student debt.”
