Pheasants Forever Youth Mentor Hunt

The 2011 Pheasants Forever Youth Mentor Hunt was held on Oct. 22 at the Minden Gun Club and hunting sites of various land owners right outside the city limits.
The Youth Mentor Hunt is a reward for the 26 students who completed their Nebraska Game and Parks Hunter’s Education course held in Kearney County. The students taking the course in Minden completed the course Oct. 17-20. The education the students received were hunter’s safety review, dog handling, bird cleaning, blue rock shooting, gun cleaning, wildlife management and regulations and learning how to ask a landowner for permission to hunt.
