It was a bright and crisp morning on January 18, 1944 when Phyllis Kay Moon entered the world. You knew her impact on the world was going to be far reaching, as she kicked her twin brother out minutes before making her own glorious appearance. Phyllis was well loved and well educated being the 8th of nine children. She was born to Helen and Arthur Moon, at the Mary Rutan hospital in Bellefontaine Ohio.
Philly‘s childhood was full of laughter, baseball, football games, swimming and of course music. The smooth sounds of Elvis generally echoed in her ears. She was a burst of joy and light wherever she went. Her smile had a contagious affect on others and her laughter was highly addictive. She was a beautiful woman who found joy and pleasure in the simplest things.
Her sweet and sassy attitude formed her in to the amazingly wonderful spirit she was. Her extremely amazing work ethic, her perseverance as well as her “keep trying attitude” laid the foundation of her delightful legacy she left for her own twins. Michael William Riley and his bride Chris Eve, Michelle Lee Mosley and her husband “Pollock” (Paul Brenner).
Grandma Philly Kay had countless movie nights, Rummy, Uno and Skip-Bo championships with her granddaughters, Kersten Ashlee, Kelsee Elisa and Lucy Wu. Her uncanny ability to create a fun and accepting atmosphere made her one of the finest Aunt Mimi’s around. She also won the MVP after making a winning touchdown in the family vs. family football game.
Our sweet momma, grandma, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, sister-in-law, and friend, met Jesus on Wednesday December 22nd 2021. She was reunited with her mother, father, grandparents, seven of her siblings and several other loved ones.
