Pioneer Village Update

Minden residents may have noticed some changes being made at Pioneer Village.  This is an update to share what we’ve done and what we intend to do as the revitalization of Pioneer Village moves forward.

For the past 20 years’ times have been tough for Pioneer Village.  Money was not available for many things, maintenance staff among them.  Many of the buildings now require our undivided attention.  Over the past six months’ generous donations by the community both in time and money have made it possible for us to begin the job of painting and most importantly, repairing roofs.

We have begun by repairing the roof of the main building and the canopy in front will be redone soon.  Other buildings such as the China Shop, Fire Hall, General Store and the Pony Express buildings will be redone before the end of the summer.  The Fire Hall and Depot were repainted by volunteers last Fall as was part of the Livery Stable.  We are obtaining estimates for repair work on other buildings as well.
