Public Hearings Set For Road Closures

The Kearney County Board of Supervisors met January 15. Highway Superintendent Randy Smith presented road study findings for three sections of roads in Blaine Township.
For the 1800 and 1900 Blocks of 24 Road, Smith suggests developing the south 1,000 feet to local road standards due to residential development in the area. The remainder should be made minimum maintenance. The supervisors approved a resolution to hold a public hearing February 19 at 10:00 a.m. for the matter.
Travel has been suspended on 23 Road Block 1800 since 1997 at the request of the NRD. Smith suggested legally closing the road, but not vacating at this time. A resolution was approved to hold a public hearing for the matter March 5 at 10:00 a.m.
