Quin Rutt Is A Southwest Conference Champion

The Minden Whippet wrestling team traveled north on Friday to compete in the 2013 Southwest Conference wrestling meet held in Ainsworth.

The Dawgs came away with a sixth place finish in the SWC, scoring 57.5 points. Valentine won the team title with 180 followed by Cozad with 121.5, Gothenburg 90, Ogallala 80, Ainsworth 70, Minden 57.5 and Broken Bow 31.

Minden had one individual SWC champion in Quin Rutt, who captured the 170 pound title. Three Whippets finished second – Austin Olson at 106 pounds, Jed Birnie at 160 pounds and Sam Fiest at 182 pounds.
