Raffety Wins Gold, Whippets Finish Seventh At Holdrege

The Minden Whippet wrestling team competed on Saturday at the Holdrege Invitational.
Minden finished seventh in the team standings, finishing with 52 points. Grand Island Northwest won the team title rolling up 212 points. Lincoln Southwest was second with 163.5 followed by McCook with 119.5.
The Whippets earned three medals at the meet mostly comprised of Class B schools.
Leading the way for the Minden medalists was senior Jack Raffety. Raffety won the 170 pound gold medal winning all three of his matches by fall.
