Recent Minden High School graduate Alex Raun was chosen to sing the national anthem during the opening ceremonies for Future Business Leaders of America’s (FBLA) National Leadership Conference (NLC).
The conference was held on July 27-30 in Anaheim, California and the best and brightest of FBLA convened to compete in leadership events, share their successes, and learn new ideas about shaping their career future through workshops and exhibits. The four-day conference is considered the pinnacle of the FBLA experience and was attended by over 8,500 students selected from 250,000 FBLA members nation and world-wide.
This was the third time Raun was chosen to sing the national anthem at an FBLA conference. He auditioned and won the honor in 2012 for the Nebraska State Conference held in Omaha in April and again for the National Fall Leadership Conference held in Denver in November.
