Reports Of Wilcox Incidents Overstated

Kearney County Sheriff’s Office released the following statement regarding incidents in Wilcox:
On Thursday, May 3, 2012, at approximately 8:00 p.m., the Kearney County Sheriff’s Office received a report that two juvenile males were contacted by an elderly male and offered candy. This incident occurred on Wednesday, May 2, between 3:30 and 4 p.m. in Wilcox, NE. The boys were asked their names, given a piece of candy and then the elderly male departed. THERE WAS NO ATTEMPT TO GET THE BOYS TO DEPART WITH THE MALE. Wilcox-Hildreth school was contacted and advised of the information at this time.
