Resolution To Close Streets For Fun Run Down Memory Lane Approved

The Minden City Council held their first regular meeting of the month on June 6. In his announcements, Mayor Ted Griess reflected that it was the 78th anniversary of D-Day and the battle of Normandy.

Karen Labenz from Dana F. Cole & Company presented the audit report for Fiscal Year 2020. She noted the City was granted an unmodified audit report and provided an overview of the report.

A resolution to close streets and highway for the MHS All Class Reunion Fun Run Down Memory Lane event was presented to the council for consideration. The resolution is similar to the one approved annually for the Chamber of Commerce Bandfest event, but no streets will actually be closed. The Minden All Class Reunion Committee is asking for police officers to be posted at the intersections of Brown Avenue and Fourth Street, Brown Avenue and St. Clair, and First Street and Blaine Avenue to direct traffic to keep runners safe. The resolution also states that the City accepts the duties of LB 589.
