Discussion about returning to school for the 2020-21 school year was extensive during the Minden Public Schools Board of Education August 10 regular meeting. The board heard from members of the community and the KCHS medical staff as they considered a resolution to reopen and return to school.
John and Cathy Osgood shared their concerns about sending kids back to school this Fall. They began by assuring the board they support MPS, but they are nervous about their grandchildren returning to school for in person instruction.
The couple shared their concerns with the district reopening protocol and how some of the safety measures will be achieved. Their concerns are for both the children and the community as the number of young people testing positive for the virus and being carriers continues to grow.
