The Minden Public Schools Board of Education held the 2020-21 budget hearing on September 14. Superintendent Jim Widdifield presented a budget summary to the board.
With the valuation down in the county, the proposed general fund levy is up to $0.734. The budget itself remains comparable to the previous year with increases corresponding to salary and insurance costs.
Adjustments were also made in the School Nutrition Fund to account for the USDA reimbursement of breakfast and lunch meals for all students through the end of December. The changes had no effect on the total budget or proposed levy.
