Self-Guided Tour Maps Of Kearney County Now Available

search, the self-guided Tour Map of Kearney County has been completed by the Kearney County Historical Society.
The map project began in the spring of 2009 by an eight member steering committee who took on the arduous task of researching and designing the self guided map of Kearney County to help visitors find and enjoy places of interest in the county.
The map includes historical sites, historic trails, railroads, cemeteries, wildlife viewing areas, agri-tourism and other attractions.
The map contains information on sites that date back to the 1800s, before Kearney County existed and will help visitors to Pioneer Village see where some of the actual exhibits came from and get a feel for the history of the area.
The maps will be distributed from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 9 in the Assembly Room of the Kearney County Courthouse.
The self-guided tour maps are available for $4.00 and would make a great Christmas gift.
Following the December 9 distribution date, the maps will be available for purchase at Pedley Drug, McBride Realty, Minden Opera House, and Burchell’s White Hill Farmhouse Inn.
The map committee members are: Mary Lou Kristensen, Bill Petersen, Merlyn Stadler, Dena Beck, Linda Ard, Jane Kuehn, Annie Jacobsen and Martin Schmidt.
