Shelton and Jacobsen Compete at State Meet

The Minden Whippets cross country team was represented by junior Chris Shelton and sophomore Trevor Jacobsen in the 2011 Nebraska State Cross Country Championships held on Friday at the Kearney Country Club.
Shelton and Jacobsen competed in the Class C boys race held on the always difficult Kearney course in warm weather.
Shelton ended his season by earning his first-ever state medal. Shelton placed 14th overall in a time of 17:23.1 over the 5K course.
Jacobsen was also making his state debut and ended his 2011 season on Friday by placing a very respectable 35th place. Jacobsen completed the course in a time of 18:05.5.
