Showcasing Manufacturing and Agriculture During MAADays
Created as a means to showcase the importance of manufacturing and agriculture to the community, MAADays organizers hope that this year’s two day celebration will be as successful as the last.
“A lot of what the Chamber of Commerce does revolves around retail business,” said Marcy Brandt, Executive Director, Minden Chamber of Commerce. “MAADays, Manufacturing and Agricultural Appreciation Days, was designed as a way for our manufacturing and agricultural businesses to get involved and showcase what they bring to the community.”
More than 400 turned out for the MAADays activities last year, and Brandt is hopeful that this year’s events will attract even more interest.
“New this year is a street dance and beer garden slated for Saturday night,” said Brandt. “We haven’t had a street dance in Minden for at least 6 years and we have our fingers crossed the weather will cooperate.”
Brandt is excited about the interest in the two day celebration. “We have triple the amount of paid vendors this year and an awesome grand prize for our “Minute to Win It” contest— club level tickets to the Sept. 25 Cornhuskers v. South Dakota State game courtesy of Minden Coffee House and a second prize of a MP3 player donated by Glenwood Telecommunications.”
