Speer Among the Most Elite Speakers in the State

Minden High School Speech Team member Jarod Speer was recently invited by the Nebraska School Activities Association to travel to Lincoln to be part of a special Nebraska Educational Television high school speech production entitled “The Best of the Best.”
The invitation came after Jarod claimed the Class B State Championship in Oral Interpretation of Humorous Prose at the Nebraska State Speech Contest held on March 24. Speer’s gold medal is his third state gold in speech team. He was part of a state winning duet acting team with Laynee Woodward in 2009 and earned a gold medal in humorous prose last year at the 2010 state speech meet.  Speer’s humorous prose was one of only nine events invited from across the entire state to be part of this special broadcast.
