The UNK Cross Country Invitational, usually a good precursor to the state meet a few weeks later, was held on September 28 in unexpectedly hot and humid conditions at the Kearney Country Club. Minden (Class C) and Wilcox-Hildreth and Axtell (Class D) had runners competing at the meet.
The Whippet boys scored 113 points and finished eighth of 23 teams. Milford (58), Sidney (70) and Columbus Scotus (80) were the top three.
Tyler Stangl medalled at 15th place in 18:34. Other Minden runners were: Jay Maska, 28th at 19:11; Leobardo Iniguez, 34th at 19:28; Brandon Saunders, 38th at 19:33; Rodrigo Jauregui, 44th at 19:42; Colton Taylor, 67th at 20:12; Mario Moreno, 144th at 22:28; and Drew Hultquist, 172nd at 23:41.
