Minden will now be home to a new all-nude juice bar called “Confessions” after the Oct. 1 Minden City Council meeting.
Jonathan D. Canterbury of Miller was before the council and audience in attendance to discuss his pla4r opening “Confessions” at 234 E. Fourth Street just off the square in downtown Minden which he could have open in 30 days.
Minden City Administrator Matt Cederburg put this on the agenda because of the unique nature of the business.
And this was the first time a business license has ever come before the council as it is normally done through the code enforcement officer of the city zoning inspector not the council stated City Attorney Tom Lieske.
The council did not have to approve or even deny the business license application Canterbury made.
The council had their hands tied on whether the strip club was even able to be open in Minden because currently there are no ordinances that exist to prohibit an “adult entertainment night club” within the city limits.
Canterbury currently is the owner of another all-nude juice bar north of Elm Creek called Paradise Island and he went on to tell the council that the business there and here are discreet. He told the council that he would take every step necessary to keep minors from being admitted and has purchased a black light system to check Ids.
