Summer Reading Program Focuses On Getting Kids Active

Jenson Memorial Library will soon start their annual Summer Reading Program with the theme “On Your Mark, Get Set… Read.”
Library Director Janene Hill said the theme focuses on sports and fitness activities. Librarian Lisa Breight said she will be teaching fifth grade and older about nontraditional sports such as rodeo events. An example of this is barrel racing, she said. She wished to focus on the science behind the sports being a self-proclaimed “science nerd.” Librarian Kim Olson said she has fun activities planned for pre-school and kindergarten age kids about movement.
Sign up starts May 31st and preschoolers through adults are welcomed to participate.There will be various prizes for reading that include frisbees, shirts, and certificates to local businesses. If a person wants a copy of the Summer Reading Program schedule, Hill said they are available on Facebook or the library website
