|The Kearney County Board of Supervisors were joined by County Department Heads during the June 18 regular meeting to discuss revisions to the Employee Handbook. Major changes to the handbook included Holidays, Vacation, and Sick Leave.|
Rather than paying all County employees for 8 hours of work on holidays, payment will be for the number of hours an employee would normally work. Accumulated vacation will be limited to 320 hours with an annual buy down to be taken out of the department’s budget. A cap of 960 hours will be put on accumulated sick leave. Any employee with at least 600 hours can donate time to the Sick Leave Pool, but no single employee can acquire more than 960 hours of sick leave.
