Despite less than ideal weather conditions, the Kearney County Board of Supervisors braved the roads in order to hold their regular meeting on November 26. The began the meeting with a public hearing for a resolution for the employee gift policy.
The amended policy sets a limit for employee recognition plaques and gifts not to exceed $150 with no additional funding from outside sources allowed. No gift certificates or cash is permitted for employee gifts. Employee recognition dinners are not to exceed $50 per plate and only employee meals are to be paid by the County. After exiting the public hearing, the board adopted the resolution.
The board considered a state audit contract for June 2020. After some discussion they determined having a state audit to follow up on the one conducted for 2019 would help ensure all the concerns that were brought to light have been addressed. The audit contract was approved.
