Supervisors Hear Concerns Over Zoning, Hog Confinement

The Kearney County Board of Supervisors had the first of its two meetings for September on Tuesday in the Kearney County Courthouse with all board members present.
The first agenda item was Wendy Clark to discuss a hog confinement facility and Kearney County Zoning Regulations.
Clark had the floor to discuss her concern about a hog confinement which is being built by Olsen Cattle Co. LLC only one and half miles away from her residence and that board members were mostly unaware the facility was being built. She went on to share that it seems the county government appears to be flawed when the Zoning Administrator, appointed by the board, is granted unilateral power to give his seal of approval to a zoning permit without having all the necessary facts needed to determine all the county zoning regulations were met.
