Supervisors Open Motorgrader Bids

The Kearney County Board of Supervisors met November 15th. County Attorney Melodie Bellamy updated the board on progress in transitioning ownership of the Axtell Public Library from Mirage Township to the Village of Axtell.

The village reviewed the purchase and interlocal agreement contracts during their meeting the eventing before. Bellamy told the board she expects them to approve the contracts during their December meeting after they have had time to review them. The tentative date for transfer of ownership is Decmeber 15th.

Motorgrader bids were opened during the meeting. The board received bids from three companies. After reviewing the bids and questioning the company representatives and Highway Superintendent Randy Smith, the board approved a motion to accept the bid from Road Builders Machinery for a used 2020 Kamatsu machine for $148,186 after trade-in. The machine will be delivered in ten weeks and includes a six year, 6,000 hour full machine warranty. The board also approved a motion to authorize Smith to sign the purchase agreement.
