The Kearney County Board of Supervisors met November 3. County Attorney Melodie Bellamy presented three bids for courtroom technology updates.
There was a large variance in the three bids from CEI and companies out of Lincoln and Omaha. CEI has done work for the courthouse in the past and provides service to several courtrooms in the area. The service is adequate for Kearney County’s needs and the judges are familiar with the system. The board approved the bid from CEI to be paid from Inheritance.
Several Building and Grounds matters were discussed. Proposals from Berggren Architects included the creation of a base diagram of the courthouse structure using a digital scan of the building for $10,500 and conducting an energy analysis to help with future heating and cooling plans for $5,000. The Building and Grounds committee suggests proceeding with at least the diagram to help the board with repair and maintenance decisions in the future.
