The Kearney County Board of Supervisors wrapped up business for the year on Christmas Eve. The meeting began with a public hearing for an amended budget.
Proposed amendments to the budget were the result of refunding the Hospital Bond for an approximate savings of $176,000. The hearing was closed with no further comment and the amended budget was approved. Closing documents for the $5,585,000 General Obligation Refunding Bonds Series 2019 were signed by the Chairman.
A date was set for the annual One & Six Year Road Hearing. The hearing will be held on February 4 at 11:00 a.m. in the courthouse assembly room. Highway Superintendent Randy Smith informed the board that several projects in many counties didn’t get completed in 2019 because of the spring flooding.
