Luke Dutcher from Miller and Associates attended the February 17 meeting of the Kearney County Board of Supervisors. Revised plans for the sidewalk project reflected concerns board members voiced at the last meeting. In addition to lengthening the proposed handicapped parking spaces by two feet, the radius on each corner of the inner sidewalk will be increased to ten feet in order to make turning easier with big machinery.
Dutcher asked if the supervisors would like to add tire stops in the handicapped parking to avoid bumpers overhanging the sidewalk and narrowing the walkway. The board asked to increase the width of the sidewalk running in front of the parking spaces by two feet. Widening the cement allows space for bumper overhang while maintaining ADA standards.
