The Kearney County Board of Supervisors had a meet and greet with USDA Wildlife Services Specialist Kyle Brown during the August 20 regular meeting. He will be the new specialist serving the Kearney County area.
Kearney County Health Services has offered to provide on site flu shots for County employees. KCHS staff will bring supplies to the courthouse and the Roads Department, administer the shots, and file related insurance claims for those who sign up beforehand. Flu shots will be given to interested employees at the courthouse on October 8. A secondary date will be set for the Roads Department.
The supervisors were asked to create a policy regarding Blue Cross premiums for employees whose spouse is also employed by the County. With the recently approved changes in employee benefits to include cash in lieu and a percentage of family coverage paid by the County, questions have arisen as to what should be done with employees whose spouse also works for the County.
