Cody Wickham from D.A. Davidson was back to visit with the Kearney County Board of Supervisors about refunding the hospital bond during the September 17 regular meeting. Although rates had gone down since he spoke with them during the previous meeting, he encouraged the board to approve a parameters resolution to start the refunding process.
Wickham explained to the board that signing the resolution will allow the board to act quickly to take advantage of favorable rates in the coming months. There is no obligation and the transaction will only be authorized if desired ratings are met or exceeded.
The board approved the resolution with defining language added. A minimum savings of $100,000 was established by unanimous vote for bond refinancing.
