The Kearney County Board of Supervisors met March 16 with a short agenda. Emergency Manager Craig Lupkes began the meeting with a request for the board to sign the Quad Cities Mutual Aid Agreement.
The agreement to provide mutual aid was originally between Minden, Axtell, Wilcox, and Hildreth. Franklin, Upland, and Riverton have been added to the agreement. A motion to approve the agreement was passed by the board.
Microsurfacing bids for five miles of River Road leading to Phelps County were opened. The board approved lowest of the two bids received from Martin Resources Management at $41,980 per mile for a total of $209,900. The project is due to be completed in June.
