Contractor Phil Baldwin spoke to the Kearney County Board of Supervisors about a possible new subdivision west of Minden during the August 18 regular meeting. Baldwin met with the Planning and Zoning Board previously, but wanted to ask the supervisors for their thoughts before proceeding.
The land located on 30 Road has been made available to him to build a subdivision. With more than 32 acres, he would build homes on 11 lots and build a road to access the homes to the south. Baldwin asked if an agreement could be reached for the County to maintain the road once it is established, but stated it wasn’t a deal breaker if he had to maintain the road himself.
The area has some drainage issues that are a concern. Baldwin admitted he still had quite a bit of research to do before he would start any work on the project. The board expressed worry about the water and drainage issues, but stated they are not against progress.
