Facing a tough opponent and waiting out a storm-related weather delay made for a long evening for the Minden Whippets on their trip to Gothenburg on September 27. The Swedes blanked the Whippets 35-0, leaving Minden with a 2-2 mark heading into the homecoming tilt this Friday against state-rated Kearney Catholic.
The Whippets were not able to generate much offense facing the once top ten ranked Swedes but the Dawgs defense hung pretty tough for a half. The only points put up before halftime resulted from a 65-yard rushing touchdown by Gothenburg with about a minute and a half remaining in the first quarter.
