The Odd Couple opens July 15
The Minden Opera House and Minden Community Players will be presenting Neil Simon’s “The Odd Couple” beginning July 15
The play was first seen in 1965 as a broadway show, and is about two roommates of drastically differing temperaments. One is neat and a bit uptight, while the other is more relaxed .
The idea for the play is rumored to have come from Simon seeing his brother, Danny Simon and his agent Roy Gerber living together after each was divorced.
The play was made into a film in 1968, twice into a television sitcom by ABC, and once into a cartoon.
The leading pair of Felix and Oscar will be played by Darren Strobel and Al Hammar.
The play will run Friday, Saturday and Sunday the week of July 15th and again the week of July 22nd, with Friday and Saturday shows at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday shows at 3 p.m.
