Minden’s newest airbnb, the Wheel House, is the perfect downtown accommodations for individual guests or large groups whether the stay is brief or extended. Owners Julie and Kevin Krull opened the airbnb to help fill a need in the community.
“We had thought about an airbnb a couple years ago. We did a bunch of research and started talking to people in town, Royal, the Opera House, and the hospital, and they were all saying we need housing for people. So we established there was a need with no hotel in town,” Julie said.
The couple originally looked at plans to create an airbnb space on the second floor of their downtown building, but abandoned the idea when the work to meet fire codes proved to be too daunting. When Jeff Krull, Kevin’s brother, passed away last July, the couple had a new space to work with.
