Trausch Sets New SWC Record In Discus, Minden Boys Third, Girls Finish Seventh

The Minden Whippet track and field team spring 2010 season is winding down with the Southwest Conference meet taking place on Saturday in Ainsworth in windy conditions.
The Whippet boys placed third scoring 88 points. Gothenburg easily won the boy team title with a score of 150 points followed by Broken Bow with 105, Minden 88, Ogallala 81, Valentine 31, Cozad 26 and Ainsworth 12.
Minden was led by senior Peter Trausch who was a double gold medalist and new SWC record holder.
Trausch unleashed a career-best throw in the discus of 182’8″ which also set a new standard in SWC competition to take the top spot in the event.
Trausch also won the boys shot put competition with a toss of 47’5.5″ to aid the boys team score.
