The Kearney County Health Services Board of Trustees monthly meeting was held August 28. Randy Hoffman from Seim Johnson presented the2018-19 Fiscal Year audit.
Four adjustments were made to the audit resulting in an approximate $9,000 decrease in the overall total reporting. Hoffman noted there was a significant change in operations. The 2018-19 fiscal year was the first full year without long term care and assisted living. He stated this should be the new baseline used going forward.
An overview of the audit showed operating expenses down by $1.7 million and the operating income at $130,000 compared to a negative $1.4 million the year before. The total margin saw a significant improvement at a positive five percent or $560,000 compared to negative 7.9 percent last year. The trustees approved the audit following the presentation.
