The Kearney County Health Services Board of Trustees held their first meeting of the year on January 29. Dick McBride remains Chairman and Clark Abrahamson remains Vice Chairman by unanimous vote.
Two equipment purchases were presented to the board for approval. The first is an InnoWave Ultra Sonic Irrigator. The tabletop machine is used for the sterilization of tools used in gall bladder surgeries, specifically, hollow instrumentation. The machine will cost $10,225.07 and allow KCHS to continue its goal of expanding the surgical services available at the facility.
The second purchase is a refurbished operating room table for $6,000. The hydraulic lift went out on the current table and replacement parts are unavailable. Both purchases were approved by the board.
