The Kearney County Health Services Board of Trustees met October 28. A proposal for the purchase of Telemetry equipment was presented to the board.
Chief Nursing Officer Kendra Brown explained the purchase of two new bedside monitors had been built into the budget to replace machines that no longer work. Because of a higher demand for the machines on procedure days, the need to purchase the monitors has become more urgent.
Although the purchase is in the budget, the equipment can be used in COVID-19 care which allows the expense to come out of COVID revenue. KCHS has been conservative in using that revenue as the guidelines for its use continue to change, but capital expenditures such as this have consistently been on the approved uses list. The board approved the Telemetry equipment purchase for $22,440.70.
