Two Whippets Qualify For State

The Minden Whippets boys and girls cross country teams competed on Thursday in the Class C-4 district meet in Ogallala at the West Winds Golf Course.
The Whippets were able to qualify two runners for the 2011 Nebraska State Cross Country meet set for Friday, Oct. 21 at the Kearney Country Club.
Junior Chris Shelton and sophomore Trevor Jacobsen were both automatic qualifiers for the Class C boys race.
Shelton led the Dawgs as he has all season by placing seventh overall in a field of 64 runners, completing the 5K course in a time of 17:07.
Jacobsen punched his ticket to his first state meet by placing 10th overall in a clocking of 17:24.8.
